GARY GRANZOW NAMED ANGUS CHEMICAL CEO

 BUFFALO GROVE, Ill., April 5 /PRNewswire/ -- ANGUS Chemical Company (ANGUS) announced today that Gary W. Granzow has been named chief executive officer succeeding Roger E. Secrist who will be retiring from this position after 27 years of service. Granzow came to ANGUS as president and chief operating officer in March of 1990 from Henkel Corporation where he was executive vice president. Prior to that, Granzow held various senior positions at A.E. Staley and UOP, Inc.
 Secrist had been chairman of ANGUS and had held the position of chief executive officer since the formation of ANGUS in 1982 when the nitroparaffins business was sold by International Minerals & Chemical Corporation (IMC) to Alberta Natural Gas Company Ltd. (ANG) and Pacific Gas Transmission Company.
 Granzow noted, ``We have taken major steps in the past several years in the growth of our business worldwide, our investment in Research and Development, and recently, the rebuilding of our nitroparaffins plant. Our commitment to the marketplace remains strong.''
 ANGUS is a Delaware corporation headquartered in Buffalo Grove, Illinois, and is a wholly owned subsidiary of ANG. ANG is a publicly traded company based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
