GARNET TO EMBED 802.1X AEGIS TOOLKIT/CLIENT.

Meetinghouse, Inc., Portsmouth, N.H., a developer of standards-based network authentication software for wired and wireless local-area networks, has announced that Garnet Systems, a Korean-based global IT and communications equipment manufacturer, has licensed Meetinghouse's AEGIS Authenticator Toolkit (802.1X authenticator software) and AEGIS Client to embed in Garnet System's new dual DSL / Wireless Access Point.

Under terms of the agreement, Garnet has licensed the Meetinghouse 802.1X-based software for use in its new dual DSL / Wireless Access Point, targeted primarily to the Wireless Internet Service Provider (WISP) market. 802.1X is being leveraged by WISPs as the preferred standard for authenticating users on Wi-Fi public hotspots. Hotspots enable wireless PC and PDA users to enjoy broadband Internet access in public environments, such as airports and hotels, and are a particular area of focus throughout Korea and other Asian countries. In addition to providing 802.1X capability to Garnet, Meetinghouse is integrating new value-added authentication features that enable web "redirect" authentication services from non-802.1X environments.

Meetinghouse is working closely with hardware vendors and service providers in South Korea, such as Garnet Systems, through a partnership with Wireless Broadband Service Co., Ltd. "Network service operators in South Korea require that all the infrastructure equipment they deploy in WLAN public hotspots support the 802.1X protocol," said Jerry Jung, CEO, Wireless Broadband Networks. "This has created a significant market opportunity for Meetinghouse."

"Garnet Systems stresses innovation that provides a unique competitive advantage," said Jeon, Keum, Director, Sales and Marketing. "Meetinghouse's AEGIS embedded technology enables us to offer our customers a significant advance in Wireless LAN security - and one that's fast and simple to deploy. We believe our consolidated approach represents the future of user authentication for Wireless LANs. Meetinghouse's 802.1X solution provides us with fast time to market and a definite competitive edge in the OEM marketplace."

"Meetinghouse is excited to be partnering with Garnet Systems," said Dr. Paul Goransson, president and founder of Meetinghouse Data Communications, Inc. "Innovative Asian-based companies, like Gartner Systems, that value solid partnering relationships and best-of-breed solutions, are showing a high level of interest in Meetinghouse and its 802.1X wireless LAN authentication solutions."
