STARS OF THE GAME

Oregon - Terrence Whitehead, junior running back, Los Angeles. Whitehead netted 124 yards on 14 carries, giving him 1,034 yards for the season, making him the 10th different Oregon running back to surpass 1,000 yards in a season. Whitehead ranks ninth on the single-season UO list and now has 2,043 career yards, moving past Saladin McCullough (2,028) into ninth on Oregon's career rushing list.

UCLA - Chris Markey, freshman running back, Luling, La. Markey, playing in place of injured Maurice Drew and sharing time with Manuel White, netted a career-high 131 yards on 23 carries as the Bruins netted 227 rushing yards.

KEY STAT

Third-down conversions - The Bruins were 10-of-18 on third downs, including one of the game's biggest plays, the 83-yard touchdown pass from Drew Olson to Junior Taylor on third-and-nine. By contrast, Oregon converted only 2-of-11 third downs.

The crowd of 58,334 was Oregon's 36th consecutive sellout in Autzen Stadium and the second-largest crowd since the stadium was expanded, eclipsed only by the 59,023 vs. Michigan last year. ... The loss was only Oregon's second home loss in November under coach Mike Bellotti, dropping the Ducks to 18-2 at home during that month; the previous loss was to Washington two years ago. ... Oregon kicker Jared Siegel moved into a tie with USC tailback Charles White on the Pac-10 career scoring list with 320 points. ... With his fifth 100-yard rushing performance of the season, Terrence Whitehead has the most such games by a Duck since Onterrio Smith had seven in 2002; Whitehead has rushed for more than 100 yards in four of Oregon's last seven games. ... With his seventh touchdown reception of the season, Dante Rosario equaled Greg Herd (1971) for the most touchdowns by a UO fullback in a single season. ... The Bruins, with 227 yards rushing, have six 200-yard rushing games this season, including three of the last four. ... Justin Phinisee's 73-yard punt return for a touchdown was the longest by a Duck since Keenan Howry's 79-yarder vs. UCLA in 2002, and the first punt return TD since Steven Moore vs. Michigan last season.
