GAME AND GADGET MAKERS PULL OUT THE STOPS AT E3.

Byline: Addison Pate Staff Writer

From psychotic weasels to World War II re-creations, this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo - aka E3 - featured an assortment of future products to whet the appetite of any tech-savvy gamer. Here are just some of the fun games and clever gadgets to look for in the coming months. (Note: Parental ratings and prices are pending for games.)

THE GAMES

Medal of honor Medal of Honor

of World War II, gamers will be even more amazed as they awake in the belly of a battleship battleship, large, armored warship equipped with the heaviest naval guns. In the vicinity are many U.S. military installations, including the chief U.S. .

Armed and Dangerous: (Xbox, PC) LucasArts calls it an ``action-action'' game because of all the guns, explosions and mayhem. In a distant world where a war rages, you and your team of misfits are trying to pull off the greatest heist of all time. The only problem is that pesky war keeps getting in your way. For all the action, there is also a fair amount of comedy.

Whiplash whiplash n. a common neck and/or back injury suffered in automobile accidents (particularly from being hit from the rear) in which the head and/or upper back is snapped back and forth suddenly and violently by the impact. : (PS2, Xbox) Ubi Soft's new title has the potential to go either way for animal-rights activists, but for gamers this is sure to be a hit. ``Spanx,'' a crazy weasel weasel, name for certain small, lithe, carnivorous mammals of the family Mustelidae (weasel family). Members of this family are generally characterized by long bodies and necks, short legs, small rounded ears, and medium to long tails. , and ``Redmond,'' an uptight rabbit, are both the subjects of evil animal testing. . So just imagine a weasel with a vengeance wheeling around a rabbit as a weapon and you'll see why this game has such promise.

Also worth mentioning: ``Tron 2.0'' (Xbox, PC), ``Viewtiful Joe'' (GameCube), ``Giest'' (GameCube), ``Boktai: The Sun Is in Your Hand'' (Game Boy Advance).

THE GADGETS

Eyetoy: (PS2) Now gamers can exercise more than their thumbs with their PS2 consoles. The ``EyeToy'' ($39.99) is an easy-to-use USB USB
 in full Universal Serial Bus

Type of serial bus that allows peripheral devices (disks, modems, printers, digitizers, data gloves, etc.) to be easily connected to a computer.
camera that allows players to become the star in one of 12 mini-based games ranging from window washing to ninja fighting.

Users can also record up to one minute of video dialogue onto a memory card for later playback. Now mom and dad can leave a message for the kids that they know will get heard.

Hip's Screenpad: (PS2, Xbox, GameCube) If you're tired of fighting with the kids for control of the TV or just need a new way to make long car rides fun, Hip's ScreenPad ($99.99) can help.

The idea is simple. Attaching this 2.6-inch high-resolution screen to the top of a controller allows the gamer to see what the TV would be projecting. It's small, it's simple, and it leaves the television (or car seats) free of video-game mayhem.

Pm300 Pyramet: Leave it to a couple of college buddies to come up with a must-have for gamers. The PM300 Pyramat ($149.99) is described as a ``futuristic sound lounger,'' which really means a cool mat with a 100-watt speaker for a pillow.
