 GALERIES LAFAYETTE SALUTES BASTILLE DAY
 NEW YORK, July 9 /PRNewswire/ -- To celebrate France's independence


celebration of Bastille Day, on July 14, Galeries Lafayette, the New York women's specialty store, today announced it will welcome the 4,288 delegates of the 1992 Democratic National Convention in a day-long series of performances, champagne and discounted merchandise.
 On the sidewalk outside the store, can-can dancers, a parade of children carrying baskets of complimentary red, blue and white flowers and the echo of accordion music will entice Galeries Lafayette guests into a fantasy that is uniquely French. Also in the best Parisian tradition, crepes will be made to order and served from carts on the sidewalk outside the store.
 After viewing the best of American fashion, as part of the "NY is Fashion" show in Central Park's Great Lawn, delegates will be invited to come and experience the very best of French fashion and style at Galeries Lafayette.
