GALERIA VANIDADES TO EXHIBIT A SELECTION OF ART WORKS BY LAURA LUNA

MIAMI, Nov. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Galeria Vanidades, 6355 NW 36 St., Virginia Gardens, Fla., announces the opening of an exhibition of the works by the painter and sculptress, Laura Luna, next Wednesday, Nov. 24, at 6 p.m.
The young artist graduated with honors in San Alejandro Art Academy, in Cuba, her birth country, where, even though as a young girl she was already considered one of the most talented and promising figures in the art world.
Upon her arrival to the United States, Luna specialized in the art of ceramics and engraving and, finally, in the object of her inspiration: sculpture. Her work combines voluminousness with lightness. There is a sense of ascensional movement in her paintings and the structure of her sculptures.
Most of her human figures are of magnifying proportions and are mutilated, incomplete, showing the evident feeling of the artist towards beauty, which for her, does not dwell in the integrity and proportion of the human body.
The winged sculptures of Luna combine the balance and vitality of the earth, the movement and fluidity of the water, the heavenly quality of the wind and the impetuosity and fieriness of fire...the transitory and the permanent, the potential of human metamorphosis.
The exhibition of this talented artist will remain open to the public until Dec. 8.
Galeria Vanidades is open Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
