GAGNE TAKES RARE LOSS SALARY-ARBITRATION RULING GOES DODGER'S WAY.

The Dodgers won their salary-arbitration case with Gagne, last season's National League Cy Young Award winner, and will pay him $5 million in 2004 instead of the $8 million sought by Gagne and his agent, Scott Boras.
