GADDAFI'S pounds 24m RAT CATCHERS; UK firm hunt pests in Libya.

RENTOKIL have won a pounds 24million contract to kill rats - from Colonel Gaddafi.

The Libyans fear outbreaks of diseases such as salmonella, meningitis and rat bite fever.

A team of 32 specialists have been sent out as part of the three-year deal. They have set 150,000 rat traps in the country Rentokil said locals had been enthusiastic about their early involvement.

Richard Jones, the firm's manager in Libya, said "They are keen to remedy the pest problem and are eager to help."
