It is hosted and scripted by the eccentric television host and music critic, Fasi Zaka and directed by Zeeshan Pervez.  of the Hansen Dam Hansen Dam in Los Angeles County, California was built by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Los Angeles District in 1939 and 1940. The project is located near the northern edge of the San Fernando Valley on Tujunga Wash, about one mile below the confluence of the Big Tujunga Wash  Recreation Area.

The Gabrielino Equestrian Park, set to be dedicated today, was sought for some two decades by equestrians who contend the horse-rich area needed a public riding space. It is the third equestrian center operated by the city parks department, with the others in Sylmar and Griffith Park Griffith Park is a large public park at the eastern end of the Santa Monica Mountains. It is situated in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. The park covers 4,210 acres (17 km²) of land, making it one of the largest urban parks in North America. .

``I really did wonder if this would ever happen,'' said Tama Lockwood, a longtime Lake View Terrace equestrian. ``There aren't enough areas like this for people to ride.''

  • James Ward (artist) (1769–1859), artist

, parks maintenance superintendent for the Valley region.

The 25-acre park became a popular spot for live music and parties where public drunkenness was a problem, particularly with people swimming in what remains of old Holiday Lake. Parking also poured onto streets in nearby neighborhoods, he said.

``There was a lot of amplified sound. Also if there was an emergency, we had some situations where the park could not be entered by our police or fire department safely,'' Ward said. ``We actually had some instances where people did get injured. There were some close drownings.''

Park officials first improved Hansen Dam Park, which is in the recreation area's northwest corner, to absorb and control the large weekend crowds.

Then officials tapped the city's share of Los Angeles County park-bond funds to pay for the $825,000 equestrian park, located next to the private Hansen Dam Equestrian Center, which is operated by a vendor under a lease agreement with the city.

The project was completed as the department was finishing the Hansen Dam swimming and boating lakes that opened in August.

``We have over 12 miles of trails in the Hansen Dam area and they're linked to more in the Angeles National Forest The Angeles National Forest (ANF) was established by executive order on December 20, 1892 as the San Gabriel Timberland Reserve. It covers over 2,600 km² (650,000 acres) and is located in the San Gabriel Mountains of Los Angeles County, just north of the metropolitan area of Los , but we don't have a lot of free riding space,'' Ward said.

The more than 5,000 horse owners in communities around Hansen Dam have access to many miles of trails through the recreation area, along the Tujunga Wash Tujunga Wash is a stream in Los Angeles County, California. ``You can leave here and get onto the Pacific Crest Trail The Pacific Crest Trail (also known as the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail) is a long-distance mountain hiking and equestrian trail that runs from the United States border with Mexico to its border with Canada and follows the highest portion of the Sierra Nevada and  without crossing a single road,'' said said Terry Kaiser, a Shadow Hills rider and president of an Equestrian Trails, Inc., chapter.

Area equestrians already are using the park, even before its official opening. They are pleased with the large riding arena featuring groomed sand, picnic areas where horses can be tied to posts, parking and loading areas, even a new children's playground.
