GAA player fined pounds 150; SPEEDING.


A TOP GAA footballer has been fined for speeding.

Sean Burke (born January 29, 1967 in Windsor, Ontario) is a former Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender.
, 21, who played in Sunday's Ulster Ulster, northernmost of the historic provinces of Ireland. Modern Ulster consists of nine counties. Six (Antrim, Armagh, Down, Fermanagh, Derry, and Tyrone) now make up Northern Ireland (see Ireland, Northern), which is often referred to as Ulster; the remaining  final against Tyrone, was clocked at 84mph in January on the M2 - 39mph above the limit for newly-licensed drivers.

Antrim Magistrate's Court also heard he was not displaying R plates when stopped by police.

A defence solicitor explained Burke told officers after being stopped: "I realise I was stupid."

Judge Robert Alcorn fined him pounds 150, and gave him five penalty points.
