GAA miss boat with price cuts.

IT would have made perfect economical sense for the GAA to embark on Verb 1. embark on - get off the ground; "Who started this company?"; "We embarked on an exciting enterprise"; "I start my day with a good breakfast"; "We began the new semester"; "The afternoon session begins at 4 PM"; "The blood shed started when the partisans  a marketing campaign right across the country and drop ticket prices ahead of the start of the Championships.

I was certain that with the state of the economy, the amount of sport on tv and radio, that the GAA would slash prices and give a little back after the Association has done so well in the past few years.

People say attendances weren't affected during previous recessions but it's different now. Look at the amount of sport on television competing to attract spectators.

If a few family members were deliberating over going to the Fermanagh- Down game next Sunday, the fact that it is live on TV might just swing them in favour of sitting at home and watching it rather than forking out money on a ticket, travelling expenses and food for the day.

While the GAA may get away with it in Ulster Ulster, northernmost of the historic provinces of Ireland. Modern Ulster consists of nine counties. Six (Antrim, Armagh, Down, Fermanagh, Derry, and Tyrone) now make up Northern Ireland (see Ireland, Northern), which is often referred to as Ulster; the remaining  where the crowds usually come out, it won't happen elsewhere and you have to say EUR EUR

In currencies, this is the abbreviation for the Euro.

Notes:
The currency market, also known as the Foreign Exchange market, is the largest financial market in the world, with a daily average volume of over US $1 trillion.
20 for Louth-Carlow on Sunday is over the top in the current climate.

By cutting prices the GAA may lose out slightly financially but it would certainly be offset by the goodwill engendered by the gesture.
