GAA: Browne is a late starter.


TONY Browne Tony Browne (born 1973) is an Irish sportsman. He plays hurling with his local club Mount Sion and with the Waterford senior inter-county team. Early life
Tony Browne was born in Waterford in 1973.

Browne suffered a slight recurrence of an ankle injury at training two weeks ago and has been unable to shake it off since.

The Waterford star had more consultations with a surgeon in Ardkeen Hospital yesterday and faces the prospect of an exploratory operation on his troublesome ankle.

Browne, Eircell Hurler of the Year in 1998, has been bothered by the ankle since before last year's championship match with Limerick.
