GA House Arrest Services, Inc. Implements Omnilink's Offender Monitoring Solution.

Company calls Omnilink's Focalpoint solution a "revolutionary" industry development

ATLANTA -- Omnilink's offender offender n. an accused defendant in a criminal case or one convicted of a crime. (See: defendant, accused)  monitoring system is helping alternative sentencing provider GA House Arrest Services, Inc. successfully execute court-ordered offender monitoring programs. A pioneer of vital status service technology, Omnilink provides sophisticated location awareness Location awareness, or more commonly "location-aware", is a general term used for something that can show that it is aware of your current location. An example is a GPS. There are also certain websites that use user locations, such as show what other users live nearby the current  information in real-time, offering the industry's only product that is completely waterproof and capable of tracking people and valuable assets inside buildings, buses, trains and other places where GPS solutions do not work.

GA House Arrest worked with Omnilink when the product was in beta and is one of the first companies to deploy the solution once it was ready for general availability. Bryant Ackerman, services director of GA House Arrest, says Omnilink provides him with the industry's most accurate location technology, which results in significant time savings.

"Before Omnilink's Focalpoint solution, every system I tried commonly lost people once they entered a building. In addition, I was plagued with false alerts and dealing with device issues," Ackerman says. "Omnilink's product is revolutionary. Now, I can monitor offenders even when they are indoors, and I do not have to deal with equipment issues anymore because of the robustness and reliability of Omnilink's solution. I now have more time for follow up with business development because of a phenomenal reduction in false alerts, which have been cut by about 95 percent."

Ackerman notes that he uses Focalpoint most often in pre-trial scenarios when a defendant is considered by the court to be a flight or repeat offense risk. He also finds the Web application helpful for researching the locations of monitored individuals who are suspected to be involved in subsequent crimes.

"When I field a call from a district attorney, Focalpoint makes it easy for me to go back in time and pinpoint the locations of monitored individuals. It's incredibly helpful for ruling out or identifying suspects," Ackerman says.

Omnilink's Focalpoint 2.0 monitoring solution brings an unprecedented level of efficiency and effectiveness to offender management with the use of a combination of Global Positioning Systems Global Positioning System: see navigation satellite.
