Future is bright for Hornets; VIEW FROM THE DUGOUT Sean Dyche Watford assistant manager.Byline: Sean Dyche Sean Dyche (born June 28, 1971) is an English former footballer. Dyche played for six clubs in his career, with his longest spell being with Chesterfield. Dyche signed for Northampton Town in 2005,[1] and was involved in their 2005-06 promotion from League Two. This is a transitional time for the club on and off the pitch but we are hoping to build a strong foundation for future success at this level. The players came back strongly from an indifferent spell at the start of last season and there was a growing belief in the squad towards the end of the campaign. It will not be easy to replace players like Jack Cork Jack Cork (born June 25, 1989) is a footballer currently contracted to Chelsea but playing on loan at Scunthorpe United. He spent some of the 2006-07 season on loan at Bournemouth. and Grzegorz Rasiak Grzegorz Rasiak ( Gzhegozh Rashak) born January 12, 1979 in Szczecin, is a Polish International footballer who currently plays for Southampton. Playing career Poland , but we feel we have the nucleus of a decent team. Our defence has looked settled and strong since Mike Williamson joined in January and it is heartening to see young players like Scott Loach, Lloyd Doyley, Adrian Mariappa and Ross Jenkins making their mark on the team. I am happy with the group that we have assembled but there could be some more comings and goings before the transfer window closes. As always, the division looks extremely competitive but the teams with the money should have an advantage. Nottingham Forest have been spending fortunes this summer and I would expect them to go well. And there should also be strong challenges from Sheffield United and QPR QPR Queens Park Rangers (football club) QPR Quarterly Progress Report QPR Quadrature Partial Response QPR Quarterly Performance Review QPR Question, Persuade, Refer (suicide prevention program) , who also have strong teams on paper. Reading are another bigspending team who could be in contention, but the league often throws up a surprise or two. Burnley and Preston have shown what can be done with limited resources and it is not too long ago that Aidy Boothroyd took Watford into the Premier League. We are not saying we can emulate that this season but hopefully we can put a framework in place. CAPTION(S): Sean Dyche |
