Future Bookings: The National Endowment for the Arts National Endowment for the Arts (NEA)

Independent agency of the U.S. government that supports the creation, dissemination, and performance of the arts. It was created by the U.S.
 presents "Reading at Risk: A Symposium on the Future of Literary Culture," a panel discussion on the national decline in literary reading and its impact on the United States at the Central Library 1 p.m. Thursday (6th). Panelists include NEA Chairman Dana Goia, State Librarian Susan Hildreth, San Francisco Chronicle The San Francisco Chronicle was founded in 1865 as The Daily Dramatic Chronicle by teenage brothers Charles de Young and Michael H. de Young.[2] The paper grew along with San Francisco to become the largest circulation newspaper on the West Coast of the  book critic David Kipen and Los Angeles Times Los Angeles Times

Morning daily newspaper. Established in 1881, it was purchased and incorporated in 1884 by Harrison Gray Otis (1837–1917) under The Times-Mirror Co. (the hyphen was later dropped from the name).
