Future Power Upgrades Top-of-the-Line PC Models; Company Revs Up Signature, Power Series Specs in Response to Rapidly Changing Market.

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 30, 1999--

PC manufacturer Future Power is standing by its promise to stay on top of the latest trends.

Just three months after announcing its Signature and Power Series desktop PCs, the company is upgrading its two high-end systems to feature larger hard drives (up to 20.5 GB), faster speeds (both run on Intel(R) PIIIs) and double the memory (as high as 128 MB).

Signature systems, upgraded with new components, will still sell for $899 or $1,129 bundled with a 17-inch monitor. The new Power Series will sell for $1,499 or $1,899 with a 19-inch monitor.

"We realized that the state of the art had suddenly changed, and we wanted to make sure our PCs exceed the current market standard before we begin shipping in volume," Bill Voecks, vice president, sales, Future Power, said. "Future Power is dedicated to providing customers the best components at the lowest prices."

In June, Future Power unveiled its Pentium-based systems -- the Signature Series for the small business, corporate, higher education and government markets, and the Power Series geared at creative and technical professionals, serious gamers and companies that require extra computing power for data and graphics-intensive applications.

The company is now delivering on its commitment to upgrade its systems as quickly as the suppliers update and stabilize the components.
