"Most of NTT DoCoMo's FOMA M1000 subscribers are business users, so the addition of data backup to the growing list of mopera U services should enhance the way business subscribers use their mobile phones," said Kiyoshi Tokuhiro, NTT DoCoMo's Managing Director of Ubiquitous Services. When the service becomes available, NTT DoCoMo subscribers will access the Data Backup service through the mopera U menu on their handsets. After registering with the service, users can also access a Web-based portal from any PC to view, update or print their personal content. All changes are automatically synchronized back to the mobile phone. Since it will be part of the mopera U service, there will be no additional charge to subscribers.
The Data Backup service is based on the same Mighty Mobile Services Platform as FusionOne's MightyBackup and MightyPhone service offerings. "NTT DoCoMo is one of the top carriers worldwide, based on both its subscriber-base and leading-edge products and services, so it comes as no surprise that they would become one of the first carriers to offer mobile phone data backup services for their FOMA M1000 users," said Richard Onyon, CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization.
