Funkwerk launches new UTM range.

Funkwerk has announced a new range of UTM (Unified Threat Management) Refers to a stand-alone appliance or a software package that combines a firewall, antivirus, spam and content filtering as well as intrusion detection. See firewall, antivirus, antispam and IDS.  (Unified Threat Management See UTM. ) security appliances Security appliances protect computer networks from unwanted data traffic, intruders, email spam, enforce policies, and may also be used to create and manage VPNs. There are a number of types of security appliances.  aimed at SMEs that provide all-round network security and are easy to configure and manage.

The UTMs bring together a wide range of security technologies in a single box, providing full protection against viruses, worms, Trojans, spam, DoS attacks, backdoors and many other forms of attack. Funkwerk also provides a firewall, intrusion protection, appliance level gateway and VPN (Virtual Private Network) A private network that is configured within a public network (a carrier's network or the Internet) in order to take advantage of the economies of scale and management facilities of large networks.  (Virtual Private Network) along with various authentication (1) Verifying the integrity of a transmitted message.  mechanisms and a digital certificate server. This combination of individual security functions in a single system means the Funkwerk UTMs protect companies more efficiently against network-based attacks. All data is checked in real time and dangerous, undesirable data packets stopped before they can exploit weak points in the network. And new threats are quickly averted using the integrated update mechanism.

Funkwerk offers solutions for a range of network sizes: The Funkwerk UTM1500 for 25-75 users, costs 1,099 Euros (ex VAT) while the Funkwerk UTM2100 for 75-200 users starts from 2,499 Euros (ex VAT). Solutions for up to 25 and more than 200 network users will follow shortly. The UTM1500 and UTM2100 are available immediately and as an introductory offer, the automatic update service is provided free of charge with all UTM appliances for a period of twelve months.
