"Fundamental Physics" by Gerhard Cheshire is a superbly illustrated series of six 64-page books written with an 8th grade reading level vocabulary that introduces basic concepts of physics to students in grades 7 to 12. Young readers will discover that physics is a factor in their daily lives involving electricity, colors, sounds, the motion and magnetism magnetism, force of attraction or repulsion between various substances, especially those made of iron and certain other metals; ultimately it is due to the motion of electric charges.

Magnetic Poles, Forces, and Fields

Any object that exhibits magnetic properties is called a magnet.
of the earth, and the movement of the planets of our solar system. The six titles comprising this informed, informative, and thoroughly 'kid friendly' series includes Electricity and Magnetism (978-1-58340-994-7); Energy and Matter (978-1-58340-999-2); Forces and Motion (978-158340-995-4); Light and Color (978-1-58340-996-1); Sound and Vibrations (978-1-58340-997-8); The Solar System and Beyond (978-1-58340-998-5). Each of these superbly presented texts are enhanced with the inclusion of a table of contents, an index, a glossary of terms, diagrams, and thematically appropriate (and educational) activities suitable for the classroom or as homework assignments. Each book is available individually ($34.25 list; $23.95 school/library) and are ideal for supplementing homeschooling curriculums, but the recommendation for school and community libraries are to acquire the complete "Fundamental Physics" series and add them to their Basic Science reference collections for the benefit of their students and young patrons.
