Fun day boost for cancer research.

CANCER Research has received a pounds 1,200 boost to its funds.

Staff at the Administration of Justice Department in Prestatyn held a fun day in a bid to raise money for cancer charities.

The event was packed full of activities and raised pounds 1,273 for Cancer Research alone - a cheque for which was presented to David Fielding, Area Volunteer Manager for the charity.

"It's a tremendous figure," said David. "It's absolutely brilliant, people have done so many things to raise the money and all of this will now translate into saving lives."

The fun day was not the first of its kind to be held in Prestatyn, as Julie Foster, head of AJD said: "Similar fun days have been held previously but this year was much bigger and better with many departments organising their own fundraising activities."

She added: "As a department, we are very proud of the money raised. We had hoped for pounds 500 but because of the great efforts we managed to raise so much more.
