Sofia, Melanie, Amanda, and Justin von Trapp are the decedents of the famous Trapp Family Singers. They are the grandchildren of Werner von Trapp (1915-2007) and great-grand children of Georg Ritter von Trapp and Maria von Trapp.

Little did they know at the time that the film would become the most popular movie classic of all time, and be seen by one billion people worldwide.

Now, they have been reunited on screen - in the original film location of Salzburg.

The documentary also features unique footage of the making of the film depicting Julie Andrews off camera and many other candid and dramatic moments.

For many of the cast, the return to Salzburg to film the documentary was their first trip back in 36 years, and evoked powerful emotions and memories.

And for all seven 'children', being back there as a group was an extraordinary reunion.

Many of the most enduring images in film history are re-enacted by the cast in the exact same locations.

Set against the backdrop of Salzburg's Mirabell Gardens and the Leopoldskron Palace, the cast remember and revive the lyrics and choreography for Do Re Mi.

The Isle of Lundy, in the Bristol Channel, used to be a pirate's hideaway, but is now a tourist attraction.

It is one of the Britain's most important marine habitats, home to puffins, grey seals, northern octopuses and the wonderfully named, brittle-stars.

The show then travels to the banks of the Rio Negro, a tributary of the Amazon which turns to sand during the dry season.

Red-headed turtles lay their eggs here, but getting them to hatch is no picnic.

Many fall prey to the golden-backed uakaris that venture down from trees to eat them.

And those that do manage to hatch must make their way down river where they may be eaten by fish such as tucanare.
