Children from Hazel Oak Special School, in Shirley, were the special guests of the Birmingham Society of Model Engineers. "This is something we do every year for the youngsters," said society spokesman Peter Jackson. "They're brilliant kids and deserve something that will put a smile on their faces. The society, which is based at Illshaw Heath Road, in Hockley Heath, has been running for more than 70 years and regularly opens its doors to the public.
