Full Rate GPON Leader FlexLight Networks, Appoints PON Veteran as President and CEO.

TEL AVIV, Israel and SILICON VALLEY, California, September 27 /PRNewswire/ -- FlexLight Networks, Inc. announced today that PON pioneer Armando Pereira has joined the company as President and Chief Executive Officer. The GPON company also announced that it is relocating its worldwide headquarters to a new Silicon Valley location as part of its global market strategy.

Mr. Pereira is a veteran of the telecommunications industry, having spent the last two decades with both public and venture companies marketing products across the globe. Most recently Mr. Pereira was the General Manager of the Optical Business Unit of Centillium Communications where he developed state-of-the-art semiconductor solutions for the optical access network. Previously, Armando co-founded and served as CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of Alloptic Inc., a company that pioneered the Ethernet PON market and was a founding member of the Ethernet in the First Mile Ethernet in the First Mile (EFM), also known as IEEE 802.3ah, is a collection of protocols specified in IEEE 802.3, defining the Ethernet in the Access networks, i.e. First/Last Mile.  (EFM (Ethernet in the First Mile) Using Ethernet to provide connectivity from the customer to the carrier. He is also a previous contributor to the ANSI (American National Standards Institute, New York, www.ansi.org) A membership organization founded in 1918 that coordinates the development of U.S. voluntary national standards in both the private and public sectors. It is the U.S. member body to ISO and IEC.  / T1-Commitee standards and a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Not to be confused with the Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE).
