The Oregon based company is the number four ranked company in world market share for FPGA devices,[1]  Corporation today announced that they have signed a distribution agreement in which Fujitsu Devices Inc. will be added as an authorized distributor of Lattice's FPGA/PLD products* in Japan.

Fujitsu has been manufacturing Lattice FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) A type of gate array that is programmed in the field rather than in a semiconductor fab. Containing up to hundreds of thousands of gates, there are a variety of FPGA architectures on the market.  products under contract since March 2004. Under the new distribution agreement, Fujitsu and Lattice will further strengthen their partnership to include both manufacturing and sales.

The agreement encompasses all Lattice products, including FPGAs manufactured using 90nm CMOS (Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor) Pronounced "c-moss." The most widely used integrated circuit design. It is found in almost every electronic product from handheld devices to mainframes.  technology at the 300mm wafer line at Fujitsu's Mie fab, as well as all other existing products. , Fujitsu will also promote the sale of Lattice products to specific customers through Fujitsu Devices Inc.. Fujitsu plans to expand its sales activities to a

wide spectrum of customers over time.

Makoto Nonaka, Executive Vice President of the Electronic Device Business Unit of Fujitsu Limited said, "We are excited to provide Lattice's excellent FPGAs to our customers. We will take maximum advantage of the synergy between our existing products and the new product lines provided by Lattice, and offer superior solutions to our customers. This distribution agreement enables us to establish a more strategic relationship between our two companies."

President of Fujitsu Devices Inc., Kunihiko Wada, stated, "With the addition of Lattice's superior FPGAs to our range of products, we are now able to offer customers a broader and more robust product line. We intend to enthusiastically promote sales of Lattice FPGAs while leveraging our strengths in ASICs, MCU (1) (MicroController Unit) A computer on a single chip. See microcontroller.

Steve Donovan, Lattice Corporate Vice President of Sales, said, "It is important for Lattice to gain additional FPGA market share in Japan. To do that, it was necessary to strengthen our sales network in order to make more customers aware of our FPGA products. With powerful sales and technical support from Fujitsu, a wider audience now will have the opportunity to learn about Lattice products."

Large-scaled integrated circuit integrated circuit (IC), electronic circuit built on a semiconductor substrate, usually one of single-crystal silicon. The circuit, often called a chip, is packaged in a hermetically sealed case or a nonhermetic plastic capsule, with leads extending from it for  chips (LSIs) in which logic operations can be programmed after manufacturing. Divided into two general categories: Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) and Complex Programmable Logic Devices (CPLD (Complex PLD) A programmable logic device that is made up of several simple PLDs (SPLDs) with a programmable switching matrix in between the logic blocks. CPLDs typically use EEPROM, flash memory or SRAM to hold the logic design interconnections. See PLD and SPLD. ).
