This functionality optimizes the use of expensive DCS ports and can potentially delay or cancel the need for costly port expansions or new system purchases. Additionally, carriers who utilize high-capacity optical DCS connections instead of relying on thousands of electrical ties to the DCS can improve reliability and eliminate the source of 80% of the trouble tickets in a central office. The FLASHWAVE 4500 platform offers a complete suite of performance monitoring for service guarantees and is fully supported by the NETSMART(R) 1500 element management system.
