Fujitsu Software to Deliver 64-Bit COBOL for Microsoft .NET Framework.

SEATTLE -- A 64-Bit Version of NetCOBOL for .NET Will Be Available Shortly After Microsoft's 64-Bit Visual Studio 2005 Release, Delivering Greater Power to Those Migrating From Mainframes

Following the recent announcement of the PRIMEQUEST(TM) range of mission-critical Intel(R) Itanium(R) 2 based servers, Fujitsu Software today announced that the next release of its NetCOBOL for .NET product will include support for the 64-bit version of the .NET Framework.

"We've seen tremendous interest in 64-bit, as customers want the option of building on the performance gains they've already seen from mainframe migrations to 32-bit .NET Framework-based environments," said Ron Langer, senior director, languages, Fujitsu Software Corporation. "Making NetCOBOL for 64-bit .NET available demonstrates the Fujitsu commitment to give the best options to those considering migrating their mainframe applications to a highly agile .NET Framework-based environment, confirms that Fujitsu is taking a leadership role in this space and that Fujitsu is taking customers where they want to go."

NetCOBOL for .NET Version 3.0 will be released shortly after the release of Microsoft Visual Studio Microsoft Visual Studio is Microsoft's flagship software development product for computer programmers.
