Fujitsu Siemens launches power-packed server.

Fujitsu Siemens Computers Fujitsu Siemens Computers is a Japanese and German IT vendor, selling consumer and business computing products in the markets of Europe, the Middle East and Africa (products marketed elsewhere are sold under the Fujitsu brand).  has come out with the most-powerful Primergy server, ever, which is codenamed Dunnington Dunnington is a village and civil parish in North Yorkshire, England, approximately 6 km (4 mi) east of the city of York. It has a a pleasant older centre of which parts are a conservation area, surrounded by modern development that is generally well-planned. .

The Primergy RX600 S4 industry standard server powered by the new six-core Intel Xeon A high-end Intel CPU chip. Designed for servers and fast workstations and pronounced "zee-ahn," Xeons include error checking memory, system management features and fast system buses and L2 caches. The first Xeon was introduced in 1998 when the Pentium II was mainstream.  MP 7400 series processors, will provide unprecedented levels of performance, and sets new standards for performance per watt watt [for James Watt], abbr. W, unit of power, or work done per unit time, equal to 1 joule per second. It is used as a measure of electrical and mechanical power. , said a company statement.

The new server combines four and six core processors with up to 16

MB of additional shared Level 3 cache to provide previously unreached performance levels.

'We recognised that large regional enterprise customers want to take advantage of the very real performance gains from the latest generation of multi-core processors, but are not necessarily ready to throw out their entire database and virtualisation server farms in order to achieve these benefits,' said Chandan Mehta, product manager, Enterprise Products, Fujitsu Siemens Computers.

'That is why we designed the Primergy RX600 S4 series to offer snap-in upgradability for newer multi-core processors a" so that over the last year, enterprises could start laying the foundations for today's announcement from Intel.'
