Fujitsu Remains at the Top in Japanese IT Outsourcing Revenue Ranking for Three Consecutive Years.

 IDC Japan's newly released report, "Japan IT Outsourcing (1) Contracting with outside consultants, software houses or service bureaus to perform systems analysis, programming and datacenter operations. Contrast with insourcing. See netsourcing, ASP, SSP and facilities management.  Leading Vendor Profile 2007" issued on August 21, 2007, the company was number one in revenues in the Japanese IT outsourcing market for fiscal 2006 (the year ending March 31, 2007). This marks the third successive year in which Fujitsu has ranked first in revenues in the Japanese IT outsourcing market. Fujitsu was able to expand its sales of outsourcing services by 9.1%, outperforming the 6.7% overall growth rate in the domestic IT outsourcing market.[1]

Fujitsu has been meeting customers' needs in Japan by offering a wide variety of IT outsourcing services. In addition to data center outsourcing, these include on-site outsourcing for operational management of systems located at customer sites, application outsourcing such as Application Portfolio Management services for the operation and maintenance of customer applications, and safety and security solutions under the SafetyRing brand for integrated risk management.

In fiscal 2006 Fujitsu expanded and deepened its involvement in the outsourcing field through such initiatives as starting operations at a newly opened BPO BPO Business Process Outsourcing

 Center[2] and soliciting customers for in its new data center[3] in Tokyo. This fiscal year the company is continuing to enhance its business in the outsourcing field, including the full upcoming commercial launch of SaaS[4], among other initiatives.

Fujitsu plans to build on its achievements in this market by continuing to promote lifecycle proposals for operational services that are planned, designed and constructed from the customer's viewpoint. Moreover, Fujitsu will help its customers boost their competitiveness by broadening the scope of outsourced applications it provides through an expanded range of services fit to market and customer needs.

In March of this year, Fujitsu opened a new BPO Center, located in the Ota district of Tokyo, which provides data entry, storage, and consulting functions and serves as the centerpiece of Fujitsu's network of 19 BPO service locations throughout Japan.
