Fujitsu Extends Sophisticated Communications Capabilities to Businesses' Smallest Offices.High Tech & Business Editors IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 16, 2001 Businesses can now extend a full range of telephone features to even their smallest branch office or remote site, with a compact unit introduced today by Fujitsu Business Communication Systems. Fujitsu announced the F9600 NX, the latest member of its versatile F9600 family of Multimedia Platforms. The F9600 NX is a remote shelf unit that extends the functionality of a complete F9600 platform to small or remote sites. The F9600 NX makes it cost-effective to connect small offices - sites with up to 16 phone lines - to the larger F9600 platforms. When networked to a host F9600, F9600 NX users receive fully transparent capabilities such as unified numbering for internal calls, calling name display, dialed number identification service, data network connectivity, and full multi-line display telephone features. It also allows small or remote sites to take advantage of such services as centralized cen·tral·ize v. cen·tral·ized, cen·tral·iz·ing, cen·tral·iz·es v.tr. 1. The F9600 NX is a part of the host F9600, so it is easily manageable with Fujitsu's network management system. "To operate more efficiently, a company has to connect its remote `islands' of employees," said Mohammad Raza, vice president of product planning Product Planning is the ongoing process of identifying and articulating market requirements that define a product’s feature set.
