Fujita Developed Tsunami-caused Inundation Risk Analysis System.

Tokyo, Japan, Sept 5, 2005 - (JCNN JCNN Japan Corporate News Network ) - Fujita, in collaboration with construction R&D company Kokankyo Engineering, has developed a system to analyze the risk of tsunami-caused inundations in metropolitan areas.

Accurately predicting the risk of an inundation INUNDATION. The overflow of waters by coming out of their bed.
     2. Inundations may arise from three causes; from public necessity, as in defence of a place it may be necessary to dam the current of a stream, which will cause an inundation to the upper lands;
 disaster caused by tsunami waves in metropolises is not an easy task. The new system uses CAD data to accurately construct a city model, giving the ability to analyze a possible inundation disaster and simulate simulate - simulation  it on a site (only in Japanese) at http://web.mnasp.net/tsunami/index.htm/.

The system computes the tsunami wave flow rate and the depth of inundation for each area that will be affected if hit by tsunami waves. The system is expected to contribute to minimizing damage from tsunami-caused inundations in coastal areas.
