Fujifilm holds a leading 22% stake in Perseus Proteomics. With this move, Fujifilm aims to make a full entry into the antibody therapeutics market. Specifically, the two companies plan to develop a diagnosis system using disease-related biomarkers and introduce it to the market in 2008.

Further, the partners will focus on developing a medical material by combining Fujifilm's proprietary materials with a molecule imaging technique that enables bio molecules to be visualized. They will also discover drug candidate compounds by using more than 200,000 chemical compounds that Fujifilm has obtained using its longstanding expertise in photography technology development.
