Fujifilm Announces New Panda Web Site At Smithsonian's National Zoo Panda Birthday Celebration; Celebration Underscores Fujifilm's Commitment to Protecting the Environment.

Fuji Photo Film U.S.A., Inc., the leading corporate sponsor of the National Zoo's Giant Panda Program, will be joining with the Friends of the National Zoo (FONZ FONZ Friends Of National Zoo (Washington, DC) ) on August 1 to celebrate the birthdays of Mei Xiang Mei Xiang, or "beautiful fragrance," is a female Giant Panda who lives at the Smithsonian National Zoological Park in Washington, D.C. The cub that Mei Xiang produced with mate Tian Tian is the media darling and world famous panda Tai Shan, born July 9, 2005.  and Tian Tian Tian Tian, or "More and More," is a 275-pound male giant panda at the Smithsonian National Zoological Park in Washington, D.C. The panda was born on August 27, 1997, at the China Research and Conservation Center for the Giant Panda in the Sichuan Province. .

To mark this special occasion, Fujifilm is launching its new "Meet the Giant Pandas" Web site, which is part of the company's effort to promote greater awareness about the importance of environmental conservation and protecting endangered species endangered species, any plant or animal species whose ability to survive and reproduce has been jeopardized by human activities.
