Fuji Photo Film Launches QuickGene-610L High-yielding Automatic Nucleic-acid Isolation System.


Tokyo, Japan, Oct 3, 2005 - (JCNN JCNN Japan Corporate News Network ) - Fuji Photo Film announced Sept. 28 that it has launched QuickGene-610L, the latest model for its automatic nucleic-acid isolation system series QuickGene, and QuickGene DNA DNA: see nucleic acid.

One of two types of nucleic acid (the other is RNA); a complex organic compound found in all living cells and many viruses. It is the chemical substance of genes.
 whole blood kit L, an exclusive extraction kit for QuickGene-610L, on a nationwide scale.

The QuickGene-610L, which features the company's proprietary porous porous /por·ous/ (por´us) penetrated by pores and open spaces.

The cellular molecules DNA and RNA that act as coded instructions for the production of proteins and are copied for transmission of inherited traits.
 with high yield: 10 times higher than the preceding model, the QuickGene-800. The processing time is about 12 minutes for six samples together.

The new system can process up to 30 samples per hour. The company expects that the QuickGene-610L will contribute to clinical studies and research on livestock science.

The retail prices are set at 1,480,000 yen for the isolation system and 44,800 yen for the kit. The company plans to introduce the system to overseas markets by the end of this year.
