Fuji Keizai Releases Reports on OTC Drug Market in Japan.Tokyo, Japan, June 20, 2006 - (JCN) - Japanese market researcher Fuji Keizai announced on June 20 that it has released a report on the over-the-counter (OTC) drug market in Japan. The report addresses 22 different efficacies in five indications including cold, urinary conditions and dental conditions. The market for OTC drugs, estimated at over 130 billion yen (US$1.1 bil), is shrinking. However, the report identifies three growing segments, namely, smoking-cessation aids, sedative 1. allaying irritability and excitement. 2. a drug that so acts. sed·a·tive (s d hypnotic 1. inducing sleep. 2. an agent that induces sleep. 3. pertaining to or of the nature of hypnosis or hypnotism. hyp·not·ic (h p-n drugs, and periodontal disease drugs.
