Fuji Keizai Analyzes Health/Beauty-oriented Food Market in Japan.Tokyo, Japan, Nov 24, 2005 - (JCNN) - Japanese market researcher Fuji Keizai announced on November 21 that it has published a report on the Japanese market for health and beauty-oriented food products. This is the 13th such annual analysis report that has followed and predicted the market trends. The market for health and beauty-oriented food products will be 1,176.8 billion yen ($9.8 bil) in 2005 and 1,153.9 billion yen ($9.6 bil) in 2006, down 7.1% and 8.9% from 2004, respectively. The negative factors are substantial decreases in the sectors of life-style related disease prevention and multi-balance food products. In the meantime, three sectors are considered promising: namely, diet, nutritional balance and cavity prevention. Specifically, the diet sector will reach 63.5 billion yen ($530 mil) in 2006, up 53.8% from 2004; the nutritional sector will expand to 70.5 billion yen ($590 mil) in 2006, up 7.2% from 2004; and the cavity prevention sector will rise to 79 billion yen ($660 mil) in 2006, up 4.8% from 2004.
