The process involves injecting either ammonia or urea into the firebox of the boiler at a location where the flue gas is (SNCR SNCR Selective Non-Catalytic Reduction SNCR Satellite Network Cost Recovery SNCR Statement of Nonavailability of Computer Resources ) system and multiple engineering releases totaling up to approximately $2.4 million from a utility alliance partner. The order is for equipment for a large coal-fired unit. The preliminary engineering on the unit was completed in 2003 and an additional release for turnkey services is possible later in the year. Also, preliminary engineering releases were received for six additional units which should result in equipment orders later this year and into 2005. Fuel Tech also received an order for demonstration of its Targeted-In-Furnace-Injection (TIFI TIFI The Integrated Facilities Institute ) process on a coal-fired unit scheduled to take place in late third quarter. This order represents expansion to a very large unit at a second facility within an existing customer's system. Steven C. Argabright, President and Chief Operating Officer Chief Operating Officer (COO) The officer of a firm responsible for day-to-day management, usually the president or an executive vice-president. , commented, "We are extremely pleased with the order and engineering releases as they serve to support our belief that our NOx reduction business will improve in the second half of 2004 and beyond. We are also gratified grat·i·fy tr.v. grat·i·fied, grat·i·fy·ing, grat·i·fies 1. To please or satisfy: His achievement gratified his father.
