Fuel-Tech N.V. (Nasdaq: FTEK), a world leader in advanced engineering solutions for the optimization of combustion systems in utility and industrial applications, today announced four orders for NOxOUT(R) projects totaling $2.0 million. Two of the orders are from a major utility alliance partner and consist of the installation of a NOxOUT(R) Selective Non-Catalytic Reduction Selective Non Catalytic Reduction (SNCR) is a method for reducing nitrogen oxide emissions in conventional power plants that burn biomass, waste and coal. In other news, the Company announced the successful completion of phase one of a government-required Targeted In-Furnace Injection (TIFI TIFI The Integrated Facilities Institute ) demonstration on a pilot scale oil-fired boiler in Mexico. The next step, phase two, is a cost-shared 30-day TIFI demonstration on a full-size commercial oil-fired unit, which is expected to occur during the latter part of the second quarter. Assuming this is successful, the next and final step, phase three, would be a six-month TIFI demonstration.
