Fross Zelnick Elects Carlos Cucurella and Lydia Gobena to Partnership.


NEW YORK -- Fross Zelnick Lehrman & Zissu, P.C., a leading firm in the field of trademark, copyright, design and unfair competition law, announced today that it has elected Carlos Cucurella and Lydia T. Gobena to the partnership.

Mr. Cucurella, 31, and Ms. Gobena, 35, joined the firm in 2000. As members of Fross Zelnick's International Group, they focus on global intellectual property management issues for companies with multinational operations, namely in the areas of copyright, trademark, trade dress, domain names, design patent and related intellectual property rights.

Prior to joining Fross Zelnick, Mr. Cucurella practiced intellectual property law with the Cuatrecasas firm in Barcelona, one of Spain's most prestigious legal firms. He has significant experience in the intellectual property law of that country, as well as within the European Union and Latin America. Mr. Cucurella currently provides trademark and copyright legal counsel and litigation An action brought in court to enforce a particular right. Ms. Gobena counsels global organizations on international copyright, trademark and unfair competition matters. She also advises clients on the protection of generic and country-code top-level domain names. Her clients have included the owners of well-known apparel, luxury goods, pharmaceutical, beverage and sport brands. She is a member of the New York State Bar Association and serves on the Anti-Counterfeiting & Parallel Trade Team of MARQUES, which is the leading professional association for European trademark holders.

Earlier in her career, Ms. Gobena had worked with a prominent former Pennie & Edmonds attorney in a practice which focused on all aspects of intellectual property law, including patent and trademark litigation. Ms. Gobena earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto Research at the University of Toronto has been responsible for the world's first electronic heart pacemaker, artificial larynx, single-lung transplant, nerve transplant, artificial pancreas, chemical laser, G-suit, the first practical electron microscope, the first cloning of T-cells, , an LL.B Hons (Legum Baccalaureus) from the University of London For most practical purposes, ranging from admission of students to negotiating funding from the government, the 19 constituent colleges are treated as individual universities.
