Frontier Airlines, GE, BlackRock among big movers on the stock market Friday


Stocks that are moving substantially or trading heavily Friday on the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq Stock Market:

General Electric Co., down $4.70 at $32.05

After posting a smaller-than-expected first-quarter profit on weakness in the financial sector, the conglomerate lowered its full-year outlook.

BlackRock Inc., down $12.89 at $207.50

Goldman Sachs and Wachovia analysts downgraded the investment manager's stock and said it's unlikely shares will rise significantly higher.

Genentech Inc., down $1.21 at $76.79

Quarterly profit rose 12 percent, but sales of Avastin disappointed some analysts, following the cancer drug's approval to treat breast cancer.

Longs Drug Stores Corp., up 70 cents at $38.35

Despite weakness from a mild flu season, demand for Easter seasonal merchandise helped offset weak pharmacy sales and boosted March same-store sales.

Delta Air Lines Inc., up 26 cents at $10.01

Pilots have agreed to contract revisions, clearing the way for a combination with Northwest Airlines Corp., a report said.

NASDAQ

Frontier Airlines Holdings Inc., down $1.09 at 48 cents

The carrier was the fourth airline in the past several weeks to file for bankruptcy protection, as high fuel prices contine to crimp earnings.

Garmin Ltd., down $1.73 at $44.83

An Oppenheimer analyst downgraded the navigation device company and said falling prices may erode profit and revenue.

PDL BioPharma Inc., up $1.98 at $13.69

Its biotechnology assets will be spun off into a separate company and shareholders will receive a special $4.25 dividend.
