From war to World bank.

I am no fan of Paul Wolfowitz--far from it ("Musical Chairs," Comment, May issue). However, let's not Let's Not is a science fiction short story by Isaac Asimov. It was first published in Boston University Graduate Journal in December 1954. It was written for no payment as a favour to the journal, and later appeared in the collection Buy Jupiter.  forget the man whose chair at the World Bank he is going to occupy, Robert McNamara. McNamara's record at the bank is not that good. And, lest we forget Lest We Forget is a phrase popularised in 1887, by Rudyard Kipling; it formed the refrain of his poem Recessional.

As a title, it may refer to any of:
  • The Ode of Remembrance
, his war that began forty years ago makes Iraq look like a walkover: 58,000 Americans killed; thousands more addicted to drugs or poisoned by Agent Orange; more than a million Vietnamese and untold numbers of Cambodians and Laotians killed.

The major difference between McNamara and Wolfowitz is it took McNamara twenty years TWENTY YEARS. The lapse of twenty years raises a presumption of certain facts, and after such a time, the party against whom the presumption has been raised, will be required to prove a negative to establish his rights.

to see the errors of his ways and to apologize for his mistakes. Wolfowitz ain't never going to admit he was wrong in anything he does.
