From the very Reverend Ken Decker re "anti-homophobia" seminars. In your Sept 2003 issue you draw attention to the fact that the Basilian Fathers of Toronto awarded $3000 in grant money to Bridges for Youth, for a project called the "Anti-Homophobia Workshop." (C.I., Sept. 2003, p.30 "Promoting the homosexual lifestyle among Catholics"). The Basilian General Council did indeed approve this disbursement DISBURSEMENT. Literally, to take money out of a purse. Figuratively, to pay out money; to expend money; and sometimes it signifies to advance money. 2. and stands behind its decision. Readers of Catholic Insight may also wish to know that this particular grant was one of 64 such grants given to organizations around the world for projects especially directed towards those that are marginalized or economically poor. The total amount awarded in 2003 was $198,850. In addition, the Congregation of St. Basil For the Ukrainian Catholic order, see . disbursed another $350,000 to Basilian-sponsored institutions that are working to answer the mandates of Gospel justice and compasion. Since our religious community began awarding Human Development Grants in 1991, it has given over two million dollars to various organizations that are addressing issues of systemic injustice. We are very thankful that we have been financially blessed to be able to do these works of justice. Unfortunately Catholic Insight's article made no effort to interview a spokesman from the Basilian Fathers let alone someone from Bridges for Youth to discover the exact nature of the "Anti-Homophobia Workshop." Instead by innuendoes, generalizations, gratuitous Bestowed or granted without consideration or exchange for something of value. The term gratuitous is applied to deeds, bailments, and other contractual agreements. linkages it led readers to believe that the workshop was promoting "erroneous ideas about sexuality and marriage." It is deeply distressing, moreover, to witness once again Catholic Insight engaging in character assault against Robert Repicky, CSB CSB Kashubian (SIL code, Poland) CSB Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board CSB Chemical Safety Board (Washington, DC) CSB Community Services Board CSB Computational Systems Bioinformatics , who has been a member in good standing of our congregation.
