IF only horses could speak andwhat would they say to Gary O''Neill (ECHO, April 25) regarding the shooting of horses at the Grand National? Perhaps they would argue that other cruel sports like hare coursing Hare coursing is the coursing of hares, that is to say the hunting of them with sighthounds. In formal hare coursing the objective is to test the dogs on their ability to turn the hare. Informal coursing is often conducted to kill, either for betting or for food.  or badger baiting should be resurrected? I suppose it''s like a lot things. If those who support the Grand National had to personally shoot the injured in·jure
