From the editor.This issue marks the end of Fathering's first year. I want to take this opportunity to thank the editorial board members for their continued support and involvement. As with any new journal, it takes time to build a pool of reliable and qualified reviewers. Decisions were made on 28 manuscripts submitted to the journal between March 2002 and August 2003. Of the 28 papers submitted, 13 were rejected, for a rejection rate of 46%. This is a fairly high rejection rate for a new publication. However, we remain committed to publishing only high quality manuscripts and research.
