From the Top awarded grant from Wallace Foundation.

From the Top, a non-profit organization that encourages and celebrates the commitment of young people to music and the arts through radio, television, the Internet and in school programming, received a $370,000 four-year grant from the Wallace Foundation for peer-to-peer education programs in three Boston Public Schools. This new grant allows From the Top to draw together resources and media platforms to build a comprehensive program for engaging students in grades 3-5 in the arts. Wallace was very impressed with the organization's Cultural Leader program and use of its peer-to-peer model, as well as the artistic quality of the program.

The Wallace Foundation Awards are designed to help selected arts organizations enhance effective practices that introduce more people to rewarding arts experiences. The Foundation's goal is to make those practices broadly accessible to other organizations by documenting their impact, understanding how they work and sharing that knowledge with other organizations.

MTNA Executive Director Gary Ingle serves on the From the Top Artistic Advisory Board.
