Talent Development Award for $5,000, renewable after one year for a total award of $10,000. The award, funded by the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation was founded in 2000 through the will of Jack Kent Cooke. This year, the Jack Kent Cooke Talent Development Award has been awarded to four young classical musicians--violinist Emily Hudock, 13, Sterling Heights, Michigan Sterling Heights is a city in Macomb County of the U.S. state of Michigan. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 95. ; violist Daniel Lay, 13, Ridgewood, New Jersey Ridgewood is a village in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. As of the United States 2000 Census, the village population was 24,936. The Village of Ridgewood was created on November 20, 1894, with the same boundaries as Ridgewood Township. ; pianist Margaret Kim, 13, Fayatteville, Arkansas; and percussionist Lucia Leon, 14, Chicago, Illinois. These recipients will also receive personal mentoring and advice from staff members at From the Top as part of the show's efforts to support and encourage young musicians in their study of the classical arts. From the Top can be heard on nearly 250 stations across the country. It is made possible through grants from the National Endowment for the Arts National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Independent agency of the U.S. government that supports the creation, dissemination, and performance of the arts. It was created by the U.S. , the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation, and Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism.
