From the Executive Director.

I am pleased to announce that the Armed Forces Comptroller has some new features ... and a new approach.

ASMC has recently revitalized the journal's editorial board. Headed by Dr. Ron Adolphi, the new board will seek themes that it believes to be of exceptional interest to Department of Defense financial managers and will solicit articles that support those themes. The board's selection process will emphasize articles of interest to Defense financial managers at our bases and installations as well as to those at headquarters and other organizational levels.

While each issue will have a theme, every article in each issue may not address that theme. ASMC therefore continues to solicit articles on all aspects of Defense financial management.

In addition to a thematic approach, the journal now sports some new features. This issue has an interview with a successful DoD financial manager that includes career tips (page 35) and a short article that provides computer tips (page 30). Of course, we retain the regular departments section, which includes professional development news and the popular chapter news and pictures.

Would you like AFC to address particular themes? Would other new features be of interest? Send me an e-mail today (hale@asmconline.org), and we will try to accommodate your interests.

Robert R Hale, CDFM
