From humble beginnings come great things.


THIS LETTER IS IN RESPONSE TO "HARLEM HAVEN" (NOVEMBER 2005). THE ARTICLE WAS very well written and it made me feel proud to read how Hue-Man has grown into the largest African American African American Multiculture A person having origins in any of the black racial groups of Africa. See Race.  bookstore in the country and is the largest bookstore in an African American community nationwide. However, I was disappointed to discover there was no mention of its roots in Denver. Ms. Villarosa (with partners) had the guts to envision and create an African American bookstore in an environment that had a very low population of African Americans. My father, who is a contemporary of Ms. Villarosa, spoke of its humble beginnings Humble Beginnings was an American pop punk band from New Jersey. While never gaining large-scale success, many of the band's members went on to mainstream success with other outfits. , and it made me eager to support her contribution to the African American history African American history is the portion of American history that specifically discusses the African American or Black American ethnic group in the United States. Most African Americans are the descendants of African slaves held in the United States from 1619 to 1865.  within our community. I wish the author had researched this story thoroughly so our community could understand the rich history of this bookstore and the journey that the founders of this vision really took I rived in New York New York, state, United States

I'm aware of the evolution of the bookstore and I only wish more could understand, especially our youth, what it really means not only to African Americans in New York but also our small, progressive, eclectic e·clec·tic
