From beer bottle to Terazzo flooring. (Glass).


American Terrazzo terrazzo

Type of flooring consisting of marble chips set in cement or epoxy resin that is poured and ground smooth when dry. Terrazzo was ubiquitous in the 20th century in commercial and institutional buildings.
 Company, Garland, Texas Garland is a city in Dallas County, Texas, (USA). It is a northeastern suburb of Dallas and is a major part of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. As of the 2000 census, the city had a population of 215,768, making it the tenth-most populous city in Texas and the eighty-sixth most , has accepted the City of Piano, Texas's challenge to use the abundance of post-consumer recycled glass from Melissa, Texas Melissa is a city in Collin County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,350 at the 2000 census, but has since exploded to an estimated population of 3,014 in July 2006, a 123.3% increase. .

Currently, more than 40 tons of post-consumer glass are processed each month for the City of Piano. Trinity Waste Services and City of Piano Officials have been seeking markets for the crushed recycled glass.

American Terrazzo Company markets the recycled glass flooring under the name of EnviroGLAS Terrazzo. The flooring uses glass and colorful epoxy resins epoxy resins, group of synthetic resins used to make plastics and adhesives. These materials are noted for their versatility, but their relatively high cost has limited their use.  to produce variegations and qualifies for Green Building/LEEDS program.
