 (yes, I will mend the error of my ways and subscribe), I note with interest the following from Catholic (sic) New Times, May 7, 2006, p. 4:

"We have used whatever reserves we could find and now we stand on the brink. It costs us about $13,000 for every issue that we send out... Staff of 4, office expenses, printing and postage: the most basic needs to get a paper out. Today we have about 4,200 print subscribers and about 100 organizational and a few individual on-line subscribers. This is down from a time when, I remember, at our peak we had over 12,000 .... Do the math .... subscriptions do not even come close to paying our most basic needs. We have no institutional financial support. Our only other revenue streams are advertising and donations .... "

It might be uncharitable to characterize this as "enemy intelligence." But who is my enemy and who is my ally as an orthodox Catholic?
