From Anneliese Steden re the Pill and cancer. (Letters to the Editor). At the pro-life conference in October in Toronto, I was particularly impressed with the presentation by Dr. Chris Kahlenborn, M.D., who spoke about "breast cancer, and its link to abortion and the Pill." It seemed to me that I had waited all my life for the discoveries that Dr. Kahlenborn presented. While abortion and its connection with breast cancer has been widely publicised Adj. 1. publicised - made known; especially made widely known publicized in pro-life publications, nothing has yet been said about the "Pill" and its possible link to breast cancer or cancer of the cervix cervix /cer·vix/ (ser´viks) pl. cer´vices [L.] 1. neck. 2. the front portion of the neck. 3. cervix uteri. . In Dr. Kahlenborn's book Breast cancer--its link to abortion and the birth control pill birth control pill n. Now that oral contraception Noun 1. oral contraception - contraception achieved by taking oral contraceptive pills contraception, contraceptive method - birth control by the use of devices (diaphragm or intrauterine device or condom) or drugs or surgery has passed from the moral (Catholic) dimension into the dimension of health concerns, we ought to be able to publicize pub·li·cize tr.v. pub·li·cized, pub·li·ciz·ing, pub·li·ciz·es To give publicity to. publicize or -cise Verb [-cizing, -cized] the truth about oral hormones. I have read the doctor's book and it seems to confirm all the reservations and suspicions I have had about the Pill all these years. I do not, however, feel qualified to discuss the book in a scientific manner. Dr. Kahlenborn's presentation was very powerful and I was secretly wondering how many women in the audience would go home and quietly flush their birth control pills down the toilet! Cambridge, ON |
